Few locations in the American Southwest rival the magic of Mesa Arch at sunrise. Hiking through the darkness to arrive just in time, we watched as the first light of day ignited the arch in a deep, brilliant orange glow. The warmth radiating from that light is something that transcends the photograph itself — every time I look at this image, that same sense of comfort and awe comes rushing back. Always worth the long drives, early starts, and lost sleep.
